A Guide To Causes And Effects Of Blood Pressure

Blood pressure can be defined as the pressure that exerts on the walls of the arteries. It is considered as one of the worst health conditions that can be fatal, eventually. Blood pressure cases are heightening with the growing days. Stress, tensions and worries are the worst rivals of human beings and are considered as the reasons for the disease.

Scientifically, the pressure of the blood depends on three factors like the amount of blood in the circulatory system, the muscle strength of heart and the condition of the arteries. Blood Pressure can be of two types – maximum and minimum. The maximum is known as Systolic Pressure and the minimum is known as the Diastolic pressure. When the left ventricle contracts the maximum blood pressure takes place. This minimum blood pressure occurs just before the heart beat.

There is an average pressure of the body, above or below which is bad for health. The average Systolic Pressure should be 120 mm of mercury and the average Diastolic Pressure should be 80 mm of mercury.

Results of High Blood Pressure

Causes
Constriction of arteries
Damage of arteries, which may lead to release of rennin.
Excessive weight and lack of exercise.

Effects
Cause kidney diseases, apoplexy and heart failure.
Cause bursting of blood vessel in the eye or brain leading to blindness and hemorrhage.
Development of fat deposits in the arteries known as the atherosclerosis. The accumulation on either wall of the arteries narrows the space thus resisting less blood to flow to the heart, which can lead to heart attack or organ failure.

Results of Low Blood Pressure

Causes
When a person loses excessive blood.
Due to considerable amount of blood loss the oxygen supply to the brain and other parts of the body are reduced.

Effects
Can cause death.

Few things that should be followed

A person with high blood pressure should go for regular monitoring. Electronic gadgets are attached to the forearm and wrist and the patient can read the level of pressure without another person’s aid.

High Blood pressure is influenced by a number of reasons. Blood pressure increases with age. You can be at high risk if your family members hold the record of high blood pressure. Too much weight heightens blood pressure. If you are addicted to smoking and drinking then you are more likely to suffer from the disease.

Doctor’s advice is recommendable in such times of crisis. They usually recommend a proper diet chart, changes to lifestyle and prescribed medicines.

There are few common medicines to treat high blood pressure, which incorporates Beta-Blockers, Diuretics, Calcium Channel Blockers and many more. The Beta Blockers let your heart beat slower and as a result blood passes through your vessels with less force. Diuretics enable your body to get rid of the extra sodium and water and let your blood vessels hold less fluid. The calcium channel blockers blocks the calcium from entering your cells and does not let your blood vessels constrict. Hence, follow a strict regimen and get rid of blood pressure.
