What is Lyrica
Lyrica is a drug used to manage a condition referred to as Fibromyalgia. Lyrica is also prescribed to help patients with diabetes to manage nerve pain and pain after experiencing shingles.
In combination with other seizure medicines, Lyrica is also prescribed by doctors to help patients manage partial seizures.
Lyrica Side Effects
Although Lyrica has been a successful prescription drug in managing seizures and Fibromyalgia, there are some common side effects to taking the drug. Some of the most common Lyrica side effects include dizziness, sleepiness, dry mouth, and edema. There have also been reports of blurred vision, constipation, weight gain, an inability to concentrate, loss of balance and a euphoric mood in addition to an increase in appetite.
Lyrica may also cause severe allergic reactions. It is very important to consult with your doctor immediately if you experience adverse side effects or allergic reactions such as swelling of your face, lips, mouth, tongue, gums or neck area resulting in an inability to breathe properly. Some other allergic reactions to using Lyrica may include an inability to breathe properly, getting a rash, blisters and/or hives.

Patients taking Lyrica have a greater chance of experiencing swelling and hives, if they are taking angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Patients taking ACE inhibitors should inform their doctors that they are taking specific medications before taking Lyrica.

If you are a person who drinks alcohol or take medications that cause you to become drowsy, taking Lyrica may result in you becoming drowsier.
